What you'll need

How to set it up
- Create several small islands using cones.
- Give each child a football.
- Choose one person to call out instructions.
How to play
- Children dribble around the space.
- When you shout “island”, they must dribble to a safe island.
- Add fun commands such as toe taps, turns or freeze.
Make it easier
Use bigger islands and allow children to walk with the ball.
Make it harder
Remove islands each round or add skill challenges before children can enter.
Celebrate clever turns and control, not just speed.
Safety notes
Use soft footballs indoors and keep enough space between players.
