FRIENDS TO BUSINESS PARTNERS

... beyond!

Atlas Camps began as the brainchild of Gloucestershire college friends Dan Tanner and James Harber — a professional rugby coach and a sports-mad teacher with a shared love for play, teamwork and helping children thrive.

What started in 2012 as one small School Holiday Club in Cheltenham soon became something special. Parents loved our warm, friendly approach and children couldn't get enough of the fun — so we grew! From that single club, Atlas Camps has blossomed into one of the leading school holiday providers in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, welcoming over 800 children every day during the school holidays.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple idea: give children freedom, fun and friendship in a safe, caring environment. Our multi-activity holiday clubs let every child choose their own adventure — whether that's sports, arts and crafts, drama, games or outdoor exploration. It's guilt-free childcare that feels like a day out, not a day care.

As Atlas Camps grew, so did our family of services.

In 2018, we introduced Aftercare, our warm and welcoming wraparound childcare service that supports working parents during term time. Our after-school clubs give children a chance to unwind, play and connect with friends in a safe, supervised space — turning the end of the school day into something to look forward to.

By 2020, we were bringing the Atlas energy into classrooms and schools with Atlas Games — our school-based PE and enrichment competitions designed to make sport inclusive, exciting and confidence-boosting for every child. From fun fitness sessions to team challenges, Atlas Games helps pupils move, learn and laugh together.

Next came Football Camps, launched in 2023, for children aged 7-14 who just can't get enough of the beautiful game. Led by our experienced coaching team, these football camps for kids in Gloucestershire mix skills, drills and tournaments with plenty of laughter and team spirit — the perfect place for future superstars to shine.

And in 2025, our newest adventure arrived: Atlas Minis. Tailored for little ones aged 2-5, these EYFS early years sessions are all about playful learning through sport. With caring, highly-trained coaches and fun, imaginative activities, Minis helps children build confidence, coordination and a lifelong love of movement.

Today, we're proud to run 30+ locations across Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, each delivering the same trusted Atlas experience — safe, engaging and full of joy.

Rated Outstanding by Ofsted (in our last graded inspection), supported by over 100 amazing coaches, and still led by Dan and James, Atlas Camps continues to grow while staying true to its roots: creating happy, confident children through active, adventurous childcare.

Because at Atlas Camps, it's never just childcare — it's childhood, the Atlas way.
