OUR FOUNDERS' STORY

2012 to now

Atlas Camps began with a simple goal: to make school holidays unforgettable for children — and stress-free for parents.

Co-founded by Dan Tanner and James Harber, Atlas Camps grew from a single Gloucestershire school setting into an award-winning network of holiday clubs, wraparound care and early-years football sessions.

From the very start, Dan and James shared the same belief: that high-quality childcare should feel safe, inspiring and full of joy. Every decision they make still comes back to that promise.

Dan's the creative heartbeat behind Atlas Camps — overseeing the brand, marketing and overall experience families enjoy from the moment they discover us online to the second their child walks through our doors.

With a background in sport, coaching and digital innovation, Dan brings creativity and strategy together to ensure every Atlas Camps experience reflects the quality, warmth and professionalism families have come to expect.

Away from the desk, you'll often find him testing new innovative ideas with his own children or planning the next big Atlas challenge for charity.

Co-Founder & Managing Director

James leads the operational heart of Atlas Camps, ensuring every club runs safely, smoothly and to the highest standards.

Drawing on his extensive background in teaching, sports coaching and staff development, James has built a culture of excellence and care across every Atlas venue. He's passionate about training teams who share our values — nurturing confident, capable coaches who make each day extraordinary for every child.
